Another stunning colt by Jazz.  A pretty dished head with a fine, white lightning stripe that adds sparkle to his face and highlights his tiny muzzle that ends in a snip. He has a nice neck, a wonderful little topline and tail set, and he has a lot of presence for such a youngster. His balanced color pattern is dramatic, complete with a black and white flashy tail. O.K. I admit it! I am a sucker for blue-eyed black horses. And when you add a wide blaze to the picture I am even happier! Cupid has been tested and is a Frame Overo Pinto colt. This colt is an elegant, very fine boned foal, with a beautiful floating trot, and leg extension. He also has the most dreamy, sparkling blue right eye, and partial left eye. He is out of one of our favorite mares Strawberry, with a nice long neck, smooth body, flat topline that breeders strive for in miniature horses. Cupid started out with a sable colored coat, but has shed out to have a black coat. His dam has tested Sabino (sb1) negative, but we believe she is carrying a sabino gene that we cannot test for at this time. Cupid's sire is a solid homozygous for black stallion Pacific Valentino who's pedigree includes the LTD Magic Man and Bar L lines. His dam, Strawberry, was the top selling mare at The Miniature Horse Event in Texas in 1997 where she was purchased for over $20,000 by Aloha Ashly Acres. She was in foal at that time to the famous stallion Roan Ranger. She is now one of our ranch matriarchs at 21 years young. This is her thirteenth foal which have included several well known stallions: Aloha Acres Terminators Hercules, a 1999 AMHA Reserve National Champion; Aloha Acres Magic Marker, a two - time top ten AMHA National Champion Stallion owned by Olympian Ranch; and Aloha Acres A Touch of Magic. We consider this foal to be among her finest foals ever.

A look in the dictionary under "Pizzazz" yields the following description; "Dazzling style; flamboyance; flair". An apt description of this stunning colt! His eye catching, flashy color is sure to turn heads, and with his combination of pinto genes, he will be a goldmine for breeding. His body is dotted with deep mahogany red calico patches, trimmed with a jet black tail, ears, and forelock, with patches of jet black in his mane. The calico patches also occur on his great grand dam, Van Los Angel In Calico. Both sire and dam are negative for the Sabino (sb1) gene. We think Pizzazz carries a sabino gene that we cannot test for at this time. Combined with his stunning color, is a floating movement which he gets from his sire. Bailey was born a rich coffee ice cream color. We originally thought he was a dark palomino, however genetic testing at Animal Genetics showed that he was actually a smoky cream. The Smoky Cream color is the result of the action of two cream genes on a black horse. Where one cream gene on a black produces a Smoky Black, two of them create the Smoky Cream!  Additionally it was determined that Bailey was Homozygous for Black as well as Homozygous for Cream!  Bailey will always pass his black and his cream genes to his offspring. He will be a great asset to a dilution breeding program. Especially one that specializes in buckskins and smoky blacks. His dam, Pacific China Blue, is the most unusual Smoky black colored horse that glows iridescent in the sun. His sire is Pacific Celebrity, who we now know is a smoky black frame splashed white sabino stallion. We think Bailey is also a splashed white overo pinto due to his high leg white, facial white, and the white he has on his belly. As there is currently no test for the splashed white overo pinto gene, we will know more when we clip him out. China looked like she was going to foal on St. Patrick's Day, but held onto Bailey until after Easter. The name stuck when we saw his color. Bailey has the most wonderful smiling blue eyes, a short muzzle, and a dishy head. He is a deep coffee color that should darken even more as he matures. The color goes around both his blue eyes further accentuating the dazzling blue eyes. Bailey combines an impressive pedigree with wonderful conformation and color. He also has the attitude to do well in the show ring!

This is our second foal by Canterbury My Fair Lady, a solid buckskin. And the first time she was bred to our herd sire Magic Man's Color Prints, a National Champion LTD's Magic Man son. This proved to be a wonderful breeding combination. Painted Prints has a terrific, flashy color pattern on his body which will stand out more as he gets his adult hair. It includes both neck and leg white markings. Both blue eyes have black pigment around them, with the right side also having a great color eye patch as well. Prints has been tested and he not only carries the Cream (Cr) gene confirming her is a buckskin, but he is also Homozygous for Bay (he can never sire a chestnut or palomino horse, but could sire buckskins and bays. Designer Prints has an unusual white patterns on both his face and his body. He is out of our tiniest mare, Sugar Creek Celeste, a 28 inch bay minimal white tobiano pinto, and by our bay frame sabino pinto stallion Magic Man's Color Prints who is a National Champion LTD's Magic Man son. Desi has a dark undercoat and we think he will shed out as a black bay like his sire and dam. Jagged markings throughout including in his neck and trailing along his back create eye candy that is fun to look at. When Desi was tested he was found to carry the sabino overo gene along with the Tobiano pinto gene which is creating these unusual jagged markings. He was also found to be Homozygous for Black (he can never have a red foal no matter what mare he is bred to). His refined body, beautiful color and markings along with a wonderful blaze make Desi a perfect match for the show ring now, and in the future a herd stallion.

Showbiz certainly took his time to be born. Guess he wanted to make a grand entrance! His dam carried him for almost a year. It obviously took that long to put such unusual coloration on him! His sire is Pacific Celebrity, who we now know is a smoky black frame splashed white sabino overo pinto stallion. We have only seen this platinum coloration twice in our 17 years breeding. Once was on a colt named Pacific Casanova that went to Australia. And the second was on this colt's sire, Celebrity. We originally thought both were carrying the silver (z) gene. But once the silver gene testing became available, both Casanova and Celebrity tested negative. This colt was tested and is a black sabino overo pinto that is also homozygous for black (he can never produce a red foal no matter what mare he is bred to). We have seen the sabino gene start out looking this platinum color on a black horse and progressively darken over the next few years. He has a wide white blaze with color around both eyes, four white socks and white hooves, and appears to have belly white. We will know more when we clip him out. Both sire and dam have blue eyes. Showbiz has one each; blue and brown.

Showbiz tested positive for the Sabino (nSb1) overo pinto gene, and Homozygous for Black (EE);  and negative for the Frame, and Cream genes.

We acquired Twister's dam Abyss in foal to Scott Creek Legacy when Darrell Mulkey and Tommy Smith retired from miniature horses in the fall of 2009. Abyss has the most beautiful dishy head from their sire the late Dippers Duffy. A quick look on the Millennium website and you could easily pick out the horses that Duffy had sired. He produced a typy head that was his trademark. This spectacular colt carries the attributes of his outstanding heritage. His grandsire is a Reserve Grand Champion Senior Stallion by the great Love Me Tender. His grand dam, Scott Creek Mystical Belle, is a halter and driving champion by the top producing sire Brewers Orion Mystic. This little colt has his dam's doe eyes, and an incredible Arabian head with tipped in ears and a tiny muzzle. Just look at his perfect high tail set!!! He is an elegant colt that carries himself with a regal air while remaining highly animated. His unusual puzzle-like tobiano pattern is likely caused by a sabino gene. When Music Man was born the Mare Stare members watching his birth immediately gave him the name of "Oreo" since he looked like an Oreo cookie! The name has stuck as his barn name. What a thrill to see this one born!! He is just pure eye candy! He has the body and attitude to turn heads in the show ring and stop visitors to your farm. Thriller has an unusual eye color that we think may be amber, but as he is just two days old we will have to see what color they turn. You do not have to look for the color on this one, just put on your sunglasses!
