Our Brood Mares Since we began breeding miniature horses we have sought out colorful marked patterns, and mostly black pintos for our breeding program. Knowing that half of the genes are passed on to the offspring from the mare, the broodmares we chose, as well as those we kept from our own breeding, had to be unique. Though color is important to us, their conformation is paramount.  We have been frequently asked for photos of the dams of our foals. Here at last are our beloved, treasured broodmares.

We appreciate your consideration of our miniature horses, and would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Our Frame Overo Pinto Program - Herd Sire:

Nostalgias Dirty Money "Monet"

Canterbury Exquisitely Framed "Fame"
Height - 33.00 inches. A 175392  /  R 324451A
Bay Frame Sabino Overo Pinto, with Blue Eyes.

"Exquisitely Framed" is the perfect name for this ultra-refined and awesome mare. Her beauty, as well as her grace, have been a welcomed addition to our broodmare herd. Fame is a classic frame overo pattern, who also carries the sabino overo pinto gene. Her sire, Willow Creeks Sparks and Fire, is a blue eyed palomino overo pinto who is providing all of the white pinto patterns on Fame. Spark's sire, NXS Merlenes Zip Strip, has driving horses in his blood with the Diamond JS Friday Buttons and the Kays line. Additionally his pedigree includes Flying W Farms Masterpiece, who sired 74 foals including National Grand and Reserve Champions, and also traces to the National Grand Champion, Bond Sir Galahad. Spark's dam, Sugar Creeks Sparkling Sapphire, also a blue eyed palomino, is a Bond Famas Amos daughter, and traces back to Gold Melody Boy, Roan Ranger, and the Great Bond Showboy. Fame's dam, Delight, a solid black mare, is pure Shady acres on her sire's side, and Still R and Lil Ponderosa on her dams. Fame's beauty is matched by her great conformation, lovely movement, and a wonderful "pocket pet" personality. She is a perfect package that we are glad we have. Bred by Nancy and Don Richey, Fame joins two other spectacular Canterbury Farms horses we own, our herd sire Canterbury All That Jazz, and our broodmare Canterbury My Fair Lady.

She has been tested and is positive for the Frame (LWO) and Sabino (SB1) overo pinto genes, Red/ Black (Ee); and negative for the Splashed White (SW-1), and Cream (cr) genes.

Van Los Angel In Calico
Height - 33.25 inches. A 76156 / R 205433A
Jet Black Calico Frame Sabino Overo Pinto, Right Eye Blue.

This stunning horse was owned by my mentor, Lynda Barthlein Marzac, for several years before Lynda (Sugar Creek Ranch) retired from miniature horse breeding. I coveted this mare from the moment I saw her walking across the field at Sugar Creek Miniature Horse Ranch. We were very fortunate to acquire Angel. Bred by Lois Myler, Angel's sire is the well known Van Los Paleface, a decedent of the famous Sample. Her sire's pedigree includes the Wink's line including Shodeo Time, and Showdeo Kid. The dam's line also includes the Wink's lines and additionally, Silverdales and Hillwickes. Lois Myler rebred Angel's sire and dam several times, but was never able to recreate any foal like Angel. She is a unique, one of a kind horse, which we treasure. She is art in motion. Angel has the personality to match her exquisite color and is a pure treasure to have here. We never tire of seeing her in the pasture and she is truly loved.

Angel has tested positive for the Frame (LWO), as well as the Sabino (SB1) overo genes. She tested negative for the Splashed White, Tobiano, and Silver genes.

Her pedigree includes: Van Los Paleface, Mylers Angel, Van Los Tony, Winks Shodeo Time, Silverdales Dainty Denise, Mylers Shorty, Van Los Vani, Winks Shodeo Kid, Rolling Green Red Crescent King, Angel, Samples Samplette, Hillwickes Captain Romeo, Silverdales Diane.

Sire: Van Los Paleface

Rolling Hills Strawberry Shortcake
Height - 33.25 inches. A 24478 / R 30604 A
Chestnut Frame Overo Pinto.

Our matriarch at Pacific Pintos is Strawberry, who has earned her place as a broodmare many times over. Strawberry was the top selling mare at The Miniature Horse Event in Texas in 1997 where she was purchased for over $20,000 by Aloha Ashley Acres. She was in foal at that time to the famous stallion Roan Ranger. Her sire, Cajun Cowboy, was a tovero pinto out of the Flying M Farm and Flying W Farms lines. Her dam, Kraus Kings Julianne, was out of the Shady Acres line. Shown here in foal at 24 years old, she has produced fourteen foals, including several well-known stallions: Aloha Acres Terminators Hercules, a 1999 AMHA Reserve National Champion; Aloha Acres Magic Marker, a two-time top ten AMHA National Champion Stallion owned by Olympian Ranch; and Aloha Acres A Touch of Magic. We have retained her daughter Pacific Black Eyed Susan as one of our broodmares. She is one of our favorite frame overo pinto mares and has given us a number of frame overo pinto foals. She has a loving personality and is a joy to have here. She is an outstanding dam to her foals, is even tempered, and been part of parades, as well as 4-H miniature horse classes and events. She is an exceptional mare that we were lucky to acquire from the late Henry Horrox at Aloha Acres.

Strawberry has tested positive for the Frame (LWO) gene; and negative for the Sabino (SB1), and Splashed White (SW-1) genes. She has never thrown a roan foal, so we believe she is carrying some other sabino pinto genes.

Her pedigree includes Cajun Cowboy, Kraus Kings Julianne, Flying M Cowboy, Flying W Farms Colette, Shady Acres Joniko, Shady Acres Samantha, Flying W Farms Arabian Knight, Flying W Farms Golden Glow, Shady Acres Little Joe, Shady Acres Little Star.

Sire: Cajun Cowboy

MCDS Evette     $3000.00 Open / $3500.00 Bred
(Exposed to Nostalgias Dirty Money “Monet” for a 2017 Foal)

Height - 32.00 inches. A 126105
Silver Bay Frame Sabino Overo Pinto, with Blue Eyes. Homozygous for Red. Foaled 3/12/01.
NEW - Click here to watch a video of MCDS Evette.

Evette is a double bred frame overo, (both her sire and dam are frame overo pintos). Her sire is La Vista Brilliant Remark, a chestnut Frame Overo Pinto, by La Vista Remarkables Remarkable, a Rowdy grandson, with solid Bond on his dam's side. La Vista Brilliant Remark now lives in the United Kingdom at Birchwood Farm. Her dam is Ashley Acres Eve Was Framed, a black Frame Sabino Pinto, with a Lazy Acres, Ohios, and Dell Teras linage. Ashley Acres Eve Was Framed is currently owned by Reece's Miniature Horses. Evette is a sweet mare with lots of black pigment around her face and black eyeliner around both blue eyes. Due to the sabino trait she has white hairs interspersed in her coat giving a roan - like appearance. Though Evette is a classic medicine hat frame sabino, the significant white hairs in her coat are hard to capture in a photo unless she is in the shade. Evette came to our ranch as a three year old and had her first foal the following year. She has been bred to two different solid black stallions and has produced three pintos; three frame overo foals, and one sabino overo foal. She is very strong for the overo pinto traits. This mare was bred by Jeanette McDonald. We are grateful to Patty Wilhoite for allowing us to purchase this exceptional mare.

Evette has been tested and is a Bay (Aa) color, positive for the Frame (LWO), Silver (nZ), Sabino (SB1), and homozygous for Red (ee). She tested negative for the Splashed White, Tobiano, and Grey genes.

Her pedigree includes: La Vista Brilliant Remark, Ashley Acres Eve Was Framed, La Vista Remarkables Remarkable, Bond Miss Citation, Ashley Acres Tinys Little Eagle, Lazy Acres Daisy Mae, NFCS Remarkable Rowdy, NFCS Red Fascination, Bond Pop Pops, Bond Priscilla, Ashley Acres Tiny Tim, Lazy Acres Butterscotch, Lazy Acres Country Boy, Ohios Buckeye Queen, Rowdy, NFCS Competitor, Bo Peeps Annie, Bond Bulldog, Bond Doodles, Bond Mamas Measure, Lazy Acres Pop Corn Sam, Dell Teras Ohios Jay Cee, Ohios Mountain Lady, Rust Acres Little Joe, Rust Acres Little Dawn, Dels Charlie Brown, Ohios Tiny Red Comet.

Sire: La Vista Brilliant Remark

Height - 32.50 inches. A 132722
Jet Black Frame Splashed White Tobiano Tovero Pinto, with Blue Eyes. Foaled 4/27/02.

Susie is a loud jet black frame splashed white tobiano tovero pinto with stunning blue eyes. Her black medicine hat dips down and encircles her right eye making the blue eye stand out even more. She has excellent proportions which give her the look of a full size horse tucked into a smaller package. Her sire is our former herd sire Sugar Creek Bolero, a jet black tobiano splashed white tovero pinto stallion with blue eyes, from the Bond and Gold Melody lines. Bolero was our primary herd sire for many years and Susie is one of several of his offspring we kept. Her dam is Rolling Hills Strawberry Shortcake, a red frame overo pinto mare from the Flying W Farms and Shady Acres lines. Strawberry was the top selling mare at The Miniature Horse Event in Texas in 1997 where she was purchased for over $20,000 by Aloha Ashley Acres. Both sire and dam have terrific conformation, and combined with their two superior pedigree lines it is no wonder that Susie is producing exceptional foals, with color to spare!

Pacific Lady Godiva
Height - 32.50 inches Perm.  A162094
Black Bay Frame Overo Pinto Mare, with Left Blue Eye. Homozygous for Black.

Lady Godiva was born a solid black bay, with a large star. As Diva has matured she has acquired roaning throughout her coat, as well as extensive cobwebbing pattern along her back and sides which has increased every year. She is nice mare, with a pretty head, large expressive eyes, and beautiful cheeks. She has a flat topline, a nice tail set, and fabulous action! Though she appears to be a jet black, she has been tested and is genetically a bay. You can just see some brown on her muzzle. This is an eye catching, stunning mare. Diva has the correct pedigree, conformation, and color sought after in a serious breeding program. Her grandsire, LTD's Magic Man, has many AMHR National Championships in driving, multi-color stallion, and halter. Magic Man is also a 3 times AMHA National Champion in 2000 in Driving, and is a multiple PTHA National Champion in Halter, Multi-Color Stallion, and Driving. Sheza LTDS Lucky Charm
Height - 33.00 inches. A 70669
Bay Frame Sabino Overo Pinto, Left Eye Blue. Homozygous for Black.

Charm was one of the first frame overo mares I fell in love with. She arrived from Florida in late November 2000. It would be hard to express the number of superlatives needed to describe Lucky Charm! She is a beautiful mare to watch move, and is as friendly as a puppy dog. We just love having her. She goes out of her way to find people to nuzzle, and is equally friendly with other mares. Her pedigree includes Rhotens Little Dandy, a National Grand Champion driving horse. Charm is homozygous for black (she can never have a red foal no matter what stallion she is bred to). Bred by Lisa Davis at LTD's in Missourishe was first owned by Linda Baerthlein Marzac where I first saw her at Sugar Creek Ranch in California. She was then sold to Aloha Acres in Florida, and I spent several years trying to convince Henry Horrox to sell her to me. She was a favorite of his, and I understand why. Lee Crutchfield eventually convinced him to sell her. We are very grateful he did. Charm is equally at home in a pasture or a barn stall. She is a happy mare wherever she is.

She has been genetically tested and is a Bay (Aa), Frame (LWO), Sabino (SB1), and is Homozygous for Black (EE) therefore she can never have a red foal no matter what stallion she is bred to. She has tested negative for the Splashed White, and Silver genes.

Cross Country Tequila Sunrise
Height - 33.25 inches. A 182510, R 288147T
Silver Buckskin Frame Splashed White Overo Pinto, with Blue Eyes.

Tequila captured our attention as a newborn filly. We love the look of refined miniature horses and Tequila had that refined, beautiful body from birth. We have always loved silver buckskins, and with this mare's added flash of color, combined with her outstanding conformation, it was a package too great to pass up. Her sire is a frame overo pinto, Cross Country Native Dancer. Dancer is a Lazy N Red Boy son. Tequila is a double bred Lazy N Red Boy, and double bred Rowdy breeding. Lazy N Red Boy's get include a significant number of National, Grand, and Reserve Champions. Her dam is Cross Country Layla, a beautiful blue eyed buckskin. Both her sire and dam are blue eyes minimally marked pintos and we are not certain which parent carries the splashed white gene. Tequila's pedigree is filled with Cross Country bred horses. As with all buckskins, she has darken over time and is now showing off her beautiful markings. Her coloration is an unusual deep apricot color. Her beautiful blue eyes are surrounded by black eyeliner. She has quickly burrowed herself into our hearts, and is one of our favorite mares. In addition to her drop dead gorgeous looks, her easy going personality is certainly a plus! Tequila is a gorgeous mare that we thankfully acquired from Belinda Bagby at Cross Country Farm in Arkansas.

She tested positive for the Frame (LWO), Splashed White (SW-1), Silver (N/Z), Cream (N/Cr), and Bay (Aa) genes. She tested negative for the Sabino gene.

Pacific Sparkling Jewels
Height - 32.75 inches. A 189078
Black Frame Sabino Tobiano Tovero Pinto, with blue eyes.
Homozygous for Black.

Another of our own bred mares, Sparkling Jewels combines conformation with outstanding color. Jewels carries three color patterns; the Frame (LWO), Sabino, and Tobiano genes; and as a bonus, is also homozygous for black. The possibilities of what color patterns she can produce are nearly endless! Dazzling blue eyes just add to this already impressive package. Her black patches have to continue to darken over the last few years, as is typical with this sabino gene. This was the only time we crossed Jewel's sire, Canterbury All That Jazz, our jet black homozygous for tobiano stallion, with her dam Feather, a brown frame sabino overo pinto. That cross created an elegant mare with the conformation and movement we strive for. Her dam Feather now lives at Never Ending Ranch in Florida. We have retained Jewels to carry on where her dam left off. Jewels joined our broodmares in 2011. For starters she was bred to our black sabino splash stallion, Nostalgias Dirty Money "Monet", and she produced her first foal for us in 2012. We are looking forward to what she will continue to do for our breeding program in the future. She is a gentle, easy going horse that is anxious to please. It is a joy to see her move and light up the pasture with her elegance and color to burn.

She has been tested and is positive for the Frame (LWO), Sabino (sb1), and Tobiano (Tt) pinto genes; and has tested homozygous for black (she can never have a red foal no matter what stallion she is bred to). She tested negative for the Splashed White (SW-1) gene.

Her pedigree includes: Canterbury All That Jazz, Arrows Dancing Feather of LTD's, Vermilyea Farms Renegade, Bryland Farms Pocket Money, National Grand Champions LTD's Magic Man and Magic Mans Bows and Arrow, Magic Mans Stormy Moon, Bonds Galahads Legacy, NFCS Geta Light, Summers Mucho Dinero, Spring Valleys Pocahontas, Bolins Buttons and Bows, Southview Mi Charm, Bond Sir Galahad, Bond Bambi, Red Lantern Light Vant Huttenest, Gita Van Double Dutch, Summers Mucho Macho, Summers Senorita Rosalita, Komokos Sonny Boy, Komokos Little Miss McGee, Shredder, Samples Wendy, Sooner States TNT, Triple G No Twenty Three, Sundance Little Dip, Sundance Dandys Charm.

Buckskin Homozygous Tobiano Pinto. Homozygous for Black.

Tinkie is a stunning homozygous tobiano buckskin pinto. Tinkie is one of the sweetest horses we have. Though she joined our broodmares as a fifteen year old, she has fit in as if she has been here all her life. She loves running around the ranch with her new herd and exploring the many trails. She comes when you call her and walks up to investigate anyone who visits. She has joined our stallion Canterbury All That Jazz's herd. Originally bred by Marguerite Coxe of Just Miniature Horse Farm, she has spent most of her life in the show ring before joining our broodmares in 2011. Pacific Lakota Stars
Height - 33.50 inches. A 204577 / R 275468
Jet Black Homozygous Tobiano Pinto, partial Blue Eyes.

Another flashy homozygous for tobiano mare that was bred in Colorado. Lakota joined our broodmare herd in the winter of 2010. She has two partial blue eyes, a unique blaze, and lots of paw prints, in addition to being a true, non-fading jet black tovero. Lakota has correct conformation, a beautiful head, nice hip, and color to spare! Lakota was bred by the Jessen's of Erie, Colorado. Lakota's sire, La Rays Patrick is a loud black tobiano pinto, who is a multi Grand and Reserve Champion, and nominated Futurity stallion. Lakota's dam, Cheyenne Stars is a loud bay tovero, who traces back to both Bond Showboy and Ashby's Kid Dy-No-Mite, both were National Champion producers. Lakota has been lab tested homozygous tobiano (she will always have a tobiano pinto foal no matter what stallion she is bred to). We believe she also may carry the Splash and Sabino pinto genes. She has foaled two foals to date; her first, HMM Echos Twizzler Twist, is a pretty chestnut tovero filly, now owned by San Juan Miniatures. Her second foal, HMM Designed By Destiny, is a smoky grulla medicine hat tovero filly, owned by Small By Design Miniatures. Both foals were show quality. She has also tested homozygous for Splashed White (SW-1), so she will also always throw a splashed white and tobiano pinto foal no matter what stallion she is bred to. She has just one patch of color on her belly on the left side, and one black right ear. She also has eyeliner and black around her left eye. Otherwise she is all white with dazzling blue eyes. We now know that her dam Bond Tivoli, as well as her sire, Sugar Creek Bolero, carried the Splashed White gene, and Cloud Nine received one Splashed White gene from both parents.

Cloud Nine has been tested and is Homozygous for Tobiano, and Homozygous for the Splashed White (SW-1), carries a Silver gene (N/Z), and is genetically a black (Ee) horse. She tested negative for the Frame, and Sabino genes.

Me-He Midnight Rose
Height - 31.25 inches. A 59182  /  R 83149 A

Black Bay Homozygous for Tobiano Pinto, with Blue Eyes.

The first time I saw a photo of Midnight Rose was when we received a show photo of her for the book "Miniature Horses; Their Care, Breeding, and Coat Colors" by Barbara Naviaux, which we published in 1999. By then Rose was a five year old with an impressive show career. She was shown at the 1994 - 1999 AMHA Nationals, from a weanling through five years old, and in that time was a top ten multi-color mare for five years, including her first year as a weanling. She was also shown in halter, driving, youth, and amateur classes. Bred and shown by Mary Lou and Harry Elder of Me-He Miniatures in Colorado, Rose was the result of a first time breeding of her sire, Oasis Collections Almost Midnight, a jet black tobiano sabino pinto, and her dam, Me He Rosie, a chestnut tobiano pinto. That breeding cross was tried three more times, but none of the foals were anything as spectacular as Midnight Rose. Rose is a dark black bay with dazzling blue eyes that are surrounded by dark skin. Covered in ink spots and freckles she is an excellent example of the tobiano pinto gene in its extreme form. Her outstanding wild pattern is matched with an equally outstanding personality. She is happy just to follow us around the property and see what we are up to, or stand guard over a mare and newborn. Midnight Rose joined our broodmares in 2010 when she was in her mid teens. We hope to have many more years with her at Pacific Pintos. We want to thank Mary Lou and Harry Elder for their love and devotion to this spectacular mare.

Rose has been tested and is a Bay (Aa), Homozygous for the Tobiano (TT) gene (she will always have a tobiano pinto foal no matter what stallion she is bred to). She tested negative for the Frame, Splashed White, and Sabino genes.

Black Tobiano Pinto, Right eye blue, Left eye partial blue.

Stormy is our second mare that carries the Belton Markings described by Lesli Kathman in her book 'The Equine Tapestry'. Her 2013 filly, Kakos Color Me Awesome, shows the extreme that these markings can occur on a horse. 'Awesome' is not homozygous for tobiano, but rather carries the Belton Markings of her dam. What gene combination lets these markings be expressed is unknown at this time. Stormy has unusual black markings on her face and legs, a  large roan area on her right side of her face which has dots in it, black dots on her blaze, and a right blue eye and partial blue on her left eye. She has tested heterozygous tobiano, and negative for splashed white. Stormy's sire is a black homozygous tobiano pinto, and her dam is a heterozygous tobiano pinto with lacing on her back. Las Doradas Tiffany's Lace
Height - 34.00 inches. A 61581
Jet Black Tobiano Pinto.

Lacey has been a wonderful brood mare for us. Though Lacey was not born here, she was purchased in 1994 at four days old, and she and her dam were brought to our farm where she was raised by us. She has acquired the nickname of "Black Lace" as we had several horses named "Lacey" in our herd at one point. Even as a newborn Lacey was an elegant horse. Beautiful long legs and movement combined to make her not only a wonderful mare, but a perfect broodmare. At the time of her purchase in 1994 there were not many horses as refined as her being produced. As of 2009, Lacey has produced ten foals for us, including one of our current herd sires, Pacific Mad Hatter. Lacey was our first introduction into the jet black (non fading) gene. Lacey's coat remains the darkest ink jet black even in the height of summer. This is a trait she often passes on to her foals. We have sought out this jet black gene when acquiring additional horses for our ranch. Her pedigree is filled with many well known Shadow Oaks, Dell Teras, and Shady Acres horses. Lacey has the personality and grace to make her one of our favorite mares. She is an easy going and happy mare that passes on her confidence, and her conformation, to her foals. Lacey has been a consistent producer of excellent quality, refined foals.

Lacey has been tested and is a heterozygous Tobiano, and negative for Sabino (SB1).

Her pedigree includes: Las Doradas BBS Freedom, Hidden Rivers Tiffany Delight, Willowbrooks Moonshadow, Les Petites Liberte, Shady Acres Cracker Jack, Kraus Kings Lightening, Dell Teras Thriller, AWH Lady Black, Shadow Oaks Noah, Shadow Oaks Queen of Hearts, Shady Acres Gee Whiz, Shady Acres Midget, Dell Teras Bronco, Dell Teras Rhonda, Shadow Oaks Ebb, O Suzanne, Shadow Oaks Firefly.

Sugar Creek Celeste
Height - 28.00 inches. A 46718
Bay Minimal White Tobiano Pinto.

Celeste is known at our ranch affectionately as my teddy bear because of her size, bay color, and personality. Our smallest mare, at just 28 inches, she makes up for her diminutive size by having an incredible personality. For those of you that have seen the outstanding British comic strip by Norman Thelwell, Celeste looks just like one of the "Thelwell ponies". And she certainly has a bigger than life character to match any of those ponies in the comic strip! She is another mare that continues to surprise us by producing loud colored foals. Ones that are far more refined and taller than she is, and foals that have a lot of leg. Celeste has produced homozygous tobianos, toveros, sabinos, and solids. We always wait for her next foal with great anticipation. Her sire is Carousel Galaxy a tobiano pinto from the Texans, Shady Acres, and Lil Ponderosa lines. Her dam is Stouts Sweet Potato, a silver dapple bay tovero pinto mare that is pure Stouts on both top and bottom of her pedigree. Celeste is one of our ranch's earliest acquisitions in 1996 when she was just four years old. She had her first foal with us, Pacific Dual Image, a stunning black tovero pinto colt that we showed for several years. Now 20 years of age in 2012, she has produced nine foals for us. We have retained her daughter, Pacific Desire, who is herself now part of our brood mare herd. Pictured here at twenty years young, Celeste remains a miniature horse to never be underestimated. She has earned the title of "Barn Queen", having passed several other "Barn Princesses", along the way. She is a true treasure that we have been honored to share our time with. Celeste was bred by my mentor and friend, Lynda Baerthlein Marzac at Sugar Creek Farms.

Celeste has produced heterozygous and homozygous tobianos pintos. We believe she is carrying a single tobiano pinto gene.

Her pedigree includes: Carousel Galaxy, Stouts Sweet Potato, Springwaters Moon Fantasy, Texans Star, Stouts Bucky Badger, Stouts Little Pritsie, Shady Acres Mr Moon, Lil Ponderosa Muffin, Texans Big Spot, Texans Sweet Thing, Stouts Moonshine, Stouts Minnie Pearl, Stouts Black Magic, Stouts Mona Lisa, Shady Acres Little Joe, Shady Acres Samantha, Lil Ponderosa Red Pepper, Lil Ponderosa Flicka, Texans Paint, Texans Cindy, Stouts Mister Pride, Stouts Mona Lisa.

Victoria's Secret is an amazing mare both in conformation and color. She has the most wonderful, deep bay coloration. A stunning head, and her dam's beautiful blue eyes surrounded by a rich mahogany bay that intensifies the blue eyes even more. The star on her forehead is heart shaped! Her black points are jet, non-fading black. She has a beautiful white color pattern which is balanced on both sides. From her refined conformation to her wonderful attitude, she exudes a self-assured presence. She must know that her pedigree is nothing short of the well-known royalty of the miniature horse world! Her personality is curious and ready for human interactions. Her sire, Canterbury All That Jazz, is our spectacular homozygous for tobiano pinto herd sire. Victoria's dam, Kitty Hawk, is the granddaughter of the famous Reece's "Hawk". Kitty Hawk is a blue eyed homozygous for splashed white overo pinto mare. Victoria is carrying the splashed white pinto gene from her dam, in addition to the tobiano gene from her sire. She has the most wonderful temperament, and head turning good looks. We look forward with anticipation to her future offspring.

Victoria has been tested and is positive for the Tobiano (nT), and Splashed White (SW-1) pinto gene, Agouti (Aa), and is Red/Black (Ee).

Chocolate Silver Bay Homozygous Splashed White Overo Pinto, with Blue Eyes. Foaled 5/16/07.
NEW - Click here to watch a video of Fergies Kitty Hawk.

We have wanted to add some Reeces 4GS Little Kings Alfalfa Pleasure (a.k.a. "Hawk") blood to our breeding program for some time. In the spring of 2008 that dream became a reality. Bred by Rick and Becky Ferguson of Illinois, Kitty Hawk is by a solid black, splashed white, and  frame (lwo) positive, Reeces Shadow of a Hawk, a "Hawk" son, and out of a chocolate silver dam, Fergies Double Oak Miss. All Kitty Hawks pedigree lines are new to our breeding farm making her an ideal outcross for our stallions. While we have other toveros in our breeding program that include splashed white in them, this is our first pure splashed white mare. She was tested at U.C. Davis and found to be homozygous for the Splashed White (SW-1/SW-1) gene. She has tested frame (lwo) negative, and is a classic splashed white overo pinto pattern. Her grandsire, Fergies Lucky Medicine Hat is a splashed white tobiano pinto, and her dam carries minimal splashed white markings. Kitty Hawk has the Fishers line of horses in her pedigree, which we have always admired. Kitty Hawk has a distinct, dark undercoat and she has darkened since her arrival from a classic red silver bay to a dark chocolate silver bay. She and a nice dishy head with dazzling blue eyes and is a great cross with our frame, sabino, and tobiano stallions.

She has tested negative for the frame (lwo) gene, and positive for the silver, and agouti (bay) gene. She was tested at U.C. Davis and found to be homozygous for the Splashed White (SW-1/SW-1) gene.

Her pedigree includes: Reeces Shadow of a Hawk, 4 GS Little Kings Alfalfa Pleasure, Little Kings Alfalfa Please, Warwick Farms, Luckys, Fergies Lucky Medicine Hat, Oak Forest Wild Streak, East Acres Blaze, Fishers Frosted Ellusion, and Fishers Elaine.

A Sundancers in a Blossoms Shadow
Height - 34.00 inches. A 124814
Black Minimal Splashed White Overo Pinto with four socks, with Blue Eyes.

Another breathtaking mare! Blossom is one of the most elegant mares I have ever known. She dances when she moves. Blossom has white patches on her belly, four white socks, a blaze which drops onto her lower lip, and blue eyes. Until the splashed white gene test became available in 2012, we were not able to confirm that she carried the splashed white gene. We have owned this horse since 2003 and all that time we suspected with her white socks and belly white that she carried a pinto gene, however all previous genetic pattern tests had been negative. She has passed her splashed white pattern on to her foals as well. She has a light Arabian-type frame, and an elegant head with a small muzzle. Blossom is an intelligent mare that is a born leader. Bred by Harvey and Mildred Levy, now retired from Bar Ls Ranch, Blossom is the daughter of Bar Ls Dazzling Dude, a loud tovero show stallion that won many awards in both halter and multi-color stallion classes. She looks exactly like her grand dam, the late AWH Blossom. Her pedigree includes the Fishers line, known for their driving horses, which explains Blossom's wonderful movement. We wish to thank Kim Wende for letting us acquire Blossom.

She has been tested and positive for the Splashed White (SW-1) Overo Pinto gene; and is negative for the Frame (LWO), Sabino (sb1), and Tobiano genes.

Her pedigree includes: Bar Ls Dazzling Dude, Bar Ls Grand Prix, Stouts Robert K, AWH Blossom, Bar Ls Grand Finale, Fishers Pearly Mae, Stouts Black Magic, Stouts Teenie Lou, Dell Teras Red Baron, AWH Miss Chiquita, Aint I Grand, Flying M Topaz, Pistols Casey Branaman, Fishers Bay Bonnet, Stouts Mister pride, Stouts Little Sheba, Dell Teras Moon Man, Dell Teras Barbara S, Equus Minus Boogaloo, Komokos Baby Jane, Goforth Little Pistol, Fishers Lady Sorrel.

Pacific Desire
Height - 31.00 inches. A 142993
Bay Splashed White Overo Pinto, with blaze and left socks.

Desire is by Pacific Justin Time, our former black frame splashed white overo herd sire, and out of Sugar Creek Celeste, our bay tobiano mare. Desire is a beautiful, deep mahogany bay, with a level top line and tail set, a lovely feminine face, and large brown eyes. With her wide blaze and socks we had long suspected that she carried a pinto gene that we could not test for at that time, either a splash or sabino pinto gene. In 2012 she was tested and found to carry the splashed white (SW-1) gene. She is a very correct mare, with an easy going personality. Her dam Celeste is one of our favorite mares, who has produced some beautiful foals for us. We retained this mare in our breeding line up as she is an excellent cross from two of our favorite horses. Her grandsire, Sugar Creek Bolero, was our herd sire for many years, and her grand dam, Van Los Angel in Calico, still graces or ranch. Desire has rewarded us with some outstanding foals. Her lineage includes many well-known show horses and legendary names in miniature horses.

Desire has been tested and is positive for the Splashed White (SW-1) Overo Pinto gene; negative for the Frame (LWO), and Tobiano genes.

Her pedigree includes; Pacific Justin Time, Sugar Creek Celeste, Sugar Creek Bolero, Van Los Angel In Calico, Carousel Galaxy, Stouts Sweet Potato, Bond Commodore, Sugar Creek Golden Contessa, Van Los Paleface, Mylers Angel, Springwaters Moon Fantasy, Texans Star, Stouts Bucky Badger, Stouts Little Pritsie, Bond Jocko, Bond Fantasy, Johnstons Gold Boy, Van Los Tony, Mylers Angel, Winks Shodeo Time, Silverdales Dainty Denise, Shady Acres Mr Moon, Lil Ponderosa Muffin, Texans Big Spot, Texans Sweet Thing, Stouts Moonshine, Stouts Minnie Pearl, Stouts Black Magic, Stouts Mona Lisa, Gold Melody Boy.

Bay Sabino Overo Pinto Mare, with left blue eye. Homozygous for Black and Bay. Foaled April 7, 2012.
NEW Click here to watch a video of Pacific Petite Sirah. NEW Click here to see a video of her birth!

Petite Sirah has the most refined body, with a tiny tea cup muzzle, and beautiful legs. She certainly has "the look" for the show ring. An unusual bay color, with the sabino roaning, highlighted with a lovely blaze, and a blue eye. Her dam, Canterbury My Fair Lady, a solid buckskin, is a Vermilyea Farms Stylish Buckaroo daughter. Lady's pedigree traces back to Boones Little Buckaroo and Rowdy. This is the second time Lady has been bred to our herd sire Magic Man's Color Prints, a National Champion LTD's Magic Man son. Once again it has proven to be a winning combination. With champion bloodlines on both sides of her pedigree, this little lady has both the conformation and the heritage in her favor. This mare would be a perfect fit in a buckskin and pinto breeding program by insuring that she will always have a buckskin or black bay foal. Her sabino pinto will add pizzazz into any pinto breeding program and her conformation will be an all-around asset. Sabino horses are a fantastic match for pinto breeding programs, and are outstanding paired with frame overos or tobianos where they add a dazzle to the pattern. Petite Sirah is also homozygous for black and bay and will never have a red foal no matter what stallion she is bred to.

Petite Sirah has been tested and is positive for the Sabino (SB-1) overo pinto gene; she is also homozygous for Black and Bay (she can never have a red foal no matter what stallion she is bred to). She tested negative for the Frame (LWO) gene.

The Versatile Solid Mares - Can be bred with any of our Stallions.

Millennium Duffys Abyss
Height - 30.50 inches. A 161054 / R 261661
Smoky Black, with Amber Eyes.

When Darrell Mulkey and Tommy Smith retired from miniature horses in the fall of 2009, we were lucky to be the first to buy two of their mares. We chose Abyss and Couture. Both these mares have beautiful Arabian heads from their sire, the late Dippers Duffy. A quick look on the Millennium website and you could easily pick out the horses that Duffy had sired. He produced an Arabian head that was his trademark. Abyss has the perfect mix of attributes from her dam and sire. She has her dam Onyx's sleek refinement, while possessing her sire's signature beautiful head and croup. Though she appears to be black, she has been tested and carries a Cream gene making her able to produce both buckskins and palominos. Abyss is a perfect little mare that is producing exceptional offspring. We do not often buy solid mares, but we knew Abyss would be an outstanding horse for our pinto stallions. She is a sweet mare too, with large amber doe eyes full of intelligence. She is not only a beautiful mare, but she has the brains to match her beauty. We are very grateful to Darrell and Tommy of Millennium Farms in Texas for allowing us to purchase this mare. We know she was a particular favorite of theirs and that makes her even more special to us.

Abyss has been tested and is Black (aa), and carries a single Cream gene (nCr).

Her pedigree includes: Dippers Duffy, Darmonds Onyx, Boones Little Apache, Starlights Little Dipper, Darmonds GGS Mr America, Williams Prissie Hiawatha, Roan Ranger, Johnstons Starlight, McRaes Mr GG, Morris Sweet Sundae, Bozemans Whos Dat, Bozemans Ms Cricket, Gold Melody Boy, Starlite II, Sligo Little Stormy, Sligo Miss CC, Yellow Diamond Little Feather, Bond Dacula, Bond Dominick, D Bar DS Tiffany, Still R Cricket.

Pacific China Blue
Height - 33.75 inches. A 125384

Silver Smoky Black with Amber Eyes, and Crescent.

China is the offspring of our broodmare Rowdy Lass, a Rowdy and Top Banana descendent. China was born to Rowdy Lass in the spring of 2001. We bought Rowdy Lass in foal to Sid's Terminator from Aloha Acres in Florida in 2000. China's sire is Sid's Terminator, a double bred both Roan Ranger and Boones Little Apache son. China was born the most beautiful iridescent coffee color with bright blue eyes. Her eyes changed over the next six months until they were amber. She is truly a "horse of a different color", with the most unusual iridescent hue. Visitors here will often stop and stare at China as they have never seen that color horse before. She stands out no matter what horses are around her as something very unusual. Her dam is homozygous for black, and both China and Rowdy Lass carry the cream (dilute) gene. She remains a sparkling iridescent color in the daylight which is a challenge to photograph. This is a correct, balanced mare that is passing on her traits to her foals. She is a calm and easy going mare that adores being a broodmare, and caring for her foals. She passes on her confidence and stability to her foals.

China has been tested and carries a single Cream (nCr), and Silver (nZ) gene, and is negative for the Frame (LWO), and the Champagne gene.

Her pedigree includes: Several National Champions including Sids Terminator, Samis Miss Banana Rowdy Lass, Dippers Dipsy Doodle, Sids Ginger, National Champion Shadow Oaks Top Banana, NFC Rowdy Lil Chicklet,  Boones Little Apache, Starlights Little Dipper, Johnstons Tina Star, Shadow Oaks Paul Bunyan, Shadow Oaks Tiny Miss, Rowdy, Equus Minus Lil Chiclet, Roan Ranger, Johnstons Starlight, Boones Little Apache, Johnstons Blondie, Golden Pennys Prince Charming, Little Tex Fancy, Shadow Oaks Ebb, Shadow Oaks Dream Size, Kewpies Sun, Komokos Mountain Boy, Komokos Baby Jane.

Millennium Duffys Couture a.k.a.  "Contessa"
Height - 30.50 inches. A 170551 / R 279089
Black Bay

When Darrell Mulkey and Tommy Smith of Millennium Farms retired from miniature horses in late 2009 this beautiful mare caught our attention. As we could not decide between Millennium's Abyss and Couture, we did what any level headed miniature horse lover would do, we bought them both!! Couture is a gorgeous black bay mare with huge, expressive doe eyes, and attitude to spare! Couture was the last of Dippers Duffy's foals born in 2006, the year that her sire died. He only sired two more foals the next year in 2007 that were born after his death. Dipper's Duffy was a Boones Little Apache son, and a Roan Ranger Grandson. Her dam, Rose, is a daughter of the incredible NFC Sugar Boy, by Roan Ranger. Rose is gorgeous mare that has proven herself over and over again to be a producer of spectacular offspring. Couture's great grandsire on both sides is Roan Ranger, giving her Gold Melody Boy on both the top and bottom of her pedigree. We are thrilled to have this mare join our band of brood mares. Couture carries herself with a presence of greatness. She has a floating trot and demands that you earn her trust. Her aloof nature has given her the nickname "Contessa"! That barn name has now stuck. Once again, we wish to thank Darrell and Tommy of Millennium Farms in Texas for allowing us to purchase this mare.

Her pedigree includes: Dippers Duffy, Checkmate Sugar Boys Black Rose, Boones Little Apache, Starlights Little Dipper, NFCS Sugar Boy, Flying M Blue Rose, Roan Ranger, Johnstons Starlight,  NFCS Sugar Baby,  Flying M Cracker, Justabouts Ranchs Pansy, and Gold Melody Boy.

Benchmark My Darling Clementine
Height - 29.50 inches. A 89850

Black.
Homozygous for Black. Foaled 4/27/97.

Clementine has proven to be a real asset to our breeding program. As a solid black mare she is versatile in being able to be bred to any of our pinto stallions. And as a homozygous for black mare we know she will never produce a red foal no matter what stallion she is bred to. Clementine is three quarters Bond breeding tracing back to Bond Commodore, Bond Jocko, and Bond Showboy. Her sire, Bond Famas Amos, is a jet black tobiano pinto, grandson of Bond Showboy. Her dam, Sugar Creek Silver Belle, is a solid silver dapple daughter of Bond Commodore. Clementine has produced several beautiful frame overo pinto foals for us, and is a sweet mare. Her correct body and legs are a great asset to a breeding program. While she is one of our smaller mares, she has excellent leg to body proportions, and passes on this trait to her foals. Her large, dreamy brown eyes, dishy head, beautiful cheeks, and muzzle are a lovely sight to behold. Clementine has been bred several times to our herd sire Magic Mans Color Prints (a AMHA and AMHR National Champion LTDS Magic Man son). This breeding cross has proven to be an exceptional cross producing three frame sabino pintos. Her pedigree traces back to a number of famous Bond stallions including Bond Commodore, as well as his sire Bond Showboy. Showboy was the sire of a number of AMHA Grand National, National, and Reserve National Champions including the renowned Bond A Toy 4 U C, and Bond Snippet. Clementine is one of many quality horses that were bred by Lynda Marzec of Sugar Creek Farms that we are lucky to have in our breeding stock. She has had no problems foaling, and is a superb mom.

(Exposed to Pacific Mad Hatter for a 2017 Foal)

Height - 31 inches. A 189083
Buckskin Dun. Homozygous for Black. Foaled 4/11/08

Fortune Cookie is the daughter of our brood mare Pacific China Blue. We search for horses like her for our breeding program, and can rarely find the elegance, conformation, and refinement qualities that she has in one package. We are proud to have bred this mare and feel she will be a great asset to our breeding program. She is an elegant, show quality, buckskin mare with huge doe eyes, a dishy head, terrific cheek bones, tiny muzzle, along with a " look at me" attitude! Both her dam and grand dam carry the dilution (cream) gene and she was tested and also carries the cream gene. Her sire is our herd sire Color Prints, who is a LTD Magic Man son. Height - 32.25 inches   A 129717
Blue Roan. Homozygous for Black.

Blue Jeans is the name she came with, and it has stuck as her call name. This is a sweet mare that has settled in, and is enjoying her new herd. She was shy at first, and still is learning to trust humans. She had several foals before we got her, and is a loving dam to her foals. Her first foal for us was Pacific Levi, an elegant, refined colt. She has tested homozygous for black, and therefore will never have a red foal no matter what stallion she is bred to. Blue Jeans is one of those mares that will talk to you and let you know what she is thinking. She is the first roan we have ever had. We delight in seeing her coat color change with the seasons. Shown here in her summer coat, in fall she turns black, and in spring she was all white! Roan horses have a coat of many colors. We look forward to seeing roan foals in her future.
