Brood Mares:
(Scroll down to see all the mares)

Since we began breeding miniature horses we have sought out colorful marked patterns, and mostly black pintos for our breeding program. Knowing that half of the genes are passed on to the offspring from the mare, the broodmares we chose, as well as those we kept from our own breeding, had to be unique. Though color is important to us, their conformation is paramount.  We have been frequently asked for photos of the dams of our foals. Here at last are our beloved, treasured broodmares.

Van Los Angel In Calico
Height - 33.25 inches (Perm)  A 76156 / R 205433A
Jet Black Calico Frame Sabino Overo Pinto, Right Eye Blue.

This stunning horse was owned by my mentor, Lynda Barthlein Marzac, for several years before Lynda (Sugar Creek Ranch) retired from miniature horse breeding. I coveted this mare from the moment I saw her walking across the field at Sugar Creek Miniature Horse Ranch. We were very fortunate to acquire Angel. Bred by Lois Myler, Angel's sire is the well known Van Los Paleface, a decedent of the famous Sample. Her sire's pedigree includes the Wink's line including Shodeo Time, and Showdeo Kid. The dam's line also includes the Wink's lines and additionally, Silverdales and Hillwickes. Lois Myler rebred Angel's sire and dam several times, but was never able to recreate any foal like Angel. She is a unique, one of a kind horse, which we treasure. She is art in motion. Angel has the personality to match her exquisite color and is a pure treasure to have here. We never tire of seeing her in the pasture and she is truly loved.

Angel has tested positive for the Frame (LWO), as well as the Sabino (SB1) overo genes, and negative for the tobiano, and silver genes. We believe she is carrying multiple sabino genes.

Her pedigree includes: Van Los Paleface, Lan Los Tony, Mylers Angel, Winks Shoedeo Time, Silverdales, Winks Shodeo Time, Van Los Vani, and Sample.

Sire: Van Los Paleface
Dam: Mylers Angel

Nostalgias Pay The Lady
Height - 31.00 inches.  A 162513
Jet Black Tobiano Pinto, Right Eye Blue. Homozygous for Black.

Pay the Lady "Paylee" was a horse that I coveted from the first time I saw her on the Nostalgia Farm internet site. Bred by Earlene and Thomas Roberts of Nostalgias Farm in Kentucky, Lady is a direct daughter of Nostalgias Show Me The Money (aka "Shamu"). This mare has the refined body and elegant movement, combined with an outstanding pedigree that we look for in our brood mares. Her sire "Shamu" is an AMHA National Champion Stallion, who has produced 17 AMHA World National Grand Champions foals. Shamu is a black splashed white sabino (sb1) pinto stallion. Her dam is LBFS Gee Gee, a jet black tobiano pinto mare. Lady is a half sister to our herd sire Nostalgias Dirty Money "Monet". They are both Show Me The Money foals. She was originally bought by Bob and Brenda Kane of Wild Spirit Miniature Horse Ranch in California, and successfully shown for several years before she became a broodmare. She is an 2008 AMHA Top Ten Honor Roll mare in Multi-Color Mares. We were thrilled to add her to our brood mare line up in the spring of 2010, and look for to what she will produce in her future. Thank you to Brenda and Bob Kane for allowing us to enjoy this beautiful mare.

Lady has been tested and is positive for the Tobiano pinto gene; and negative for the Frame (LWO), and the Sabino (sb1) pinto genes. She is also Homozygous for Black (She can never have a red foal no matter what stallion she is bred to).

Her pedigree includes: Nostalgias Show Me The Money, Cajun Rebel, Nostalgias Edith Ann, Flying W Farms, Kraus Kings, LBFS Gee Gee, Sreenans, Grosshills, Bond Nemo, Bond Showboy, and Stouts.

Sire: Nostalgias Show Me The Money
Dam: LBFS Gee Gee

Forester Creek Tiara
Height - 30.75 inches. A 94871
      $3500.00
Bay Frame Sabino Overo Pinto, with Blue Eyes. Homozygous for Black. Foaled 5/29/98

Tiara was born with two red ears and a small red crescent on her forehead, otherwise she appears white. We purchased Tiara as a weanling when she was just a week old. She has been at Pacific Pintos since she was weaned in 1998. Since her color only appeared only on her head as a foal I suggested she be named Tiara, as this fit well with her color location. She is a maximum expression of the color genes. She has been lab tested and has been shown to be genetically a bay, that carries the frame (LWO), and sabino pattern genes. She is also homozygous for black (she can never produce a red foal no matter what stallion she is bred to). When she is wet a large number of black speckles and spots appear on her skin due to the sabino gene. She also has a number of black patches on her muzzle. As of 2009,Tiara has produced six foals for us. Five have been frame overos, and one sabino pinto foal thus far. Tiara has produced frame overos when bred to both tobianos and solid horses. She is very strong genetically for the frame gene and has passed on loud, classic frame patterns to her offspring. Tiara's pedigree traces back to some of the miniature horse's industries most well known horses. Bred by Ingrid and Richard McDade at Forester Creek Ranch, we are proud to have this mare as one of our brood mares.

Tiara has been tested and is a Bay. She is Frame (LWO), and Sabino (SB1) positive, and homozygous for Black (she can never produce a red foal no matter what stallion she is bred to). She is negative for Silver, and Tobiano.

Her pedigree includes: Forester Creeks Rag Time Blues, Deerhorn Valley Becca, Bay El Bay, Celebes, Dearhorn Valley, Arabays Rags to Riches, Sonita Highlands Pandora, Shadow Oaks Ebb, Legendary Baldy, Bond, Komokos, and Soats.

Sire: Forester Creeks Rag Time Blue
Dam: Deerhorn Valley Becca

Rolling Hills Strawberry Shortcake
Height - 33.25 inches. A 24478 R 30604 A
Chestnut Frame Overo Pinto.

Strawberry was the top selling mare at The Miniature Horse Event in Texas in 1997 where she was purchased for over $20,000 by Aloha Ashly Acres. She was in foal to the famous stallion Roan Ranger. Shown here in foal at 20 years old, she has produced twelve foals, including several well known stallions: Aloha Acres Terminators Hercules, a 1999 AMHA Reserve National Champion; Aloha Acres Magic Marker, a two - time top ten AMHA National Champion Stallion owned by Olympian Ranch; and Aloha Acres A Touch of Magic. We have retained two of her foals for future breeding. She is an exceptional mare that we were lucky to acquire from Henry Horrox at Aloha Acres. She has a loving personality and is a joy to have here.

Strawberry has tested Frame (LWO) positive, and Sabino (sb1) negative. As she has never thrown a roan foal, so we believe she is carrying some other sabino pinto genes.

Her pedigree includes Cajun Cowboy, Flying M Cowboy, Flying W Farms, Kraus Kings Julianne, and Shady Acres.

Sire: Cajun Cowboy
Dam: Kraus Kings Julianne

MCDS Evette
Height - 32.00 inches. A 126105
Silver Bay Frame Sabino Overo Pinto, with Blue Eyes. Homozygous for Red.

Evette is a double bred frame overo, (both her sire and dam are frame overo pintos). Her sire is La Vista Brilliant Remark, a chestnut Frame Overo Pinto, by La Vista Remarkables Remarkable, a Rowdy grandson, with solid Bond on his dam's side. La Vista Brilliant Remark now lives in the United Kingdom at Birchwood Farm. Her dam is Ashley Acres Eve Was Framed, a black Frame Sabino Pinto, with a Lazy Acres, Ohios, and Dell Teras linage. Ashley Acres Eve Was Framed is currently owned by Reece's Miniature Horses. Evette is a sweet mare with lots of black pigment around her face and black eyeliner around both blue eyes. Due to the sabino trait she has white hairs interspersed in her coat giving a roan - like appearance. Though Evette is a classic frame sabino, the significant white hairs in her coat are hard to capture in a photo unless she is in the shade. Evette came to our ranch as a three year old and had her first foal the following year. She has been bred to two different solid black stallions and has produced three pintos; two frame overo foals, and one sabino overo foal. She is very strong for the overo pinto traits. This mare was bred by Jeanette McDonald. We are grateful to Patty Wilhoite for allowing us to purchase this exceptional mare.

Evette has been tested and is a bay color, positive for the Frame (LWO), Silver, Sabino (SB1), and homozygous for Red. She tested negative for Tobiano.

Her pedigree includes: La Vista Brilliant Remark, Ashley Acres Eve Was Framed, La Vista Remarkables Remarkable, Bond Miss Citation, Ashley Acres Tinys Little Eagle, Lazy Acres Daisy Mae, NFCS Remarkable Rowdy, NFCS Red Fascination, Bond Pop Pops, Bond Priscilla, Rowdy, Dell Teras, Dels, Ohios Buckeye Queen, and Rusts Acres.

Sire: La Vista Brilliant Remark

Millennium Duffys Abyss
Height - 30.25 inches.   A 161054,  R 261661
Smoky Black.

When Darrell Mulkey and Tommy Smith retired from miniature horses in the fall of 2009 we were lucky to be the the first to buy two of their mares. We chose Abyss and Couture. Both these mares have beautiful dishy heads from their sire the late Dippers Duffy. A quick look on the Millennium website and you could easily pick out the horses that Duffy had sired. He produced a typy head that was his trademark. Abyss has the perfect mix of attributes from her dam and sire. She has her dam Onyx’s sleek refinement, while possessing her sire’s signature beautiful head and croup. Abyss is a perfect little mare that we expect will produce exceptional offspring. She is a sweet mare too, with large doe eyes full of intelligence. You can tell that she is not only a beautiful mare, but she has the brains to match her beauty. We are very grateful to Darrell and Tommy of Millennium Farms in Texas for allowing us to purchase this mare. We know she was a particular favorite of theirs and that makes her even more special to us.

Abyss has been tested and is Black (aa), and carries a single Cream gene (nCr).

Her pedigree includes: Dippers Duffy, Boones Little Apache, Roan Ranger, Gold Melody Boy, Starlights Little Dipper, Yellow Diamond Little Feather,  Bozemans, Bond, and Sligo.

Sire: Dippers Duffy
Dam: Darmonds Onyx

Pacific Black Eyed Susan
Height - 32.50 inches. A 132722
Jet Black Frame Tovero Pinto, with Blue Eyes.

Susie's sire is our former herd sire Sugar Creek Bolero, a jet black tobiano pinto stallion with blue eyes, from the Bond and Gold Melody lines. Bolero was our primary herd sire for many years and Susie is one of several of his offspring we kept. Her dam is Rolling Hills Strawberry Shortcake, a red roan frame overo pinto mare from the Flying W Farms and Shady Acres lines. Strawberry was the top selling mare at The Miniature Horse Event in Texas in 1997 where she was purchased for over $20,000 by Aloha Ashly Acres. Both sire and dam have terrific conformation, and combined with their two superior pedigree lines it is no wonder that Susie is producing exceptional colored foals.

Susie has been tested and is Frame (LWO) overo pinto positive, and is heterozygous for Tobiano pinto.

Her pedigree includes: Bond Commodore, Bond Jocko, Bond Fantasy, Sugar Creek Golden Contessa, Johnstons Gold Boy, Gold Melody Boy, Johnstons Golden Dream, Cajun Cowboy, Flying M Cowboy, Flying W Farms, Shady Acres, Kraus King Julianne.

Sire: Sugar Creek Bolero

Pacific China Blue
Height - 33.75 inches. A 125384

Smokey Black with Amber Eyes, and Crescent.

China is the offspring of our broodmare Rowdy Lass, a Rowdy and Top Banana descendent. China was born to Rowdy Lass in the spring of 2001. We bought Rowdy Lass in foal to Sid's Terminator from Aloha Acres in Florida in 2000. China's sire is Sid's Terminator, a double bred both Roan Ranger and Boones Little Apache son. China was born the most beautiful iridescent coffee color with bright blue eyes. Her eyes changed over the next six months until they were amber. She is truly a "horse of a different color", with the most unusual iridescent hue. Visitors here will often stop and stare at China as they have never seen that color horse before. She stands out no matter what horses are around her as something very unusual. Her dam is homozygous for black, and both China and Rowdy Lass carry the cream (dilute) gene. She remains a sparkling iridescent color in the daylight which is a challenge to photograph. This is a correct, balanced mare that is passing on her traits to her foals. She is a calm and easy going mare that adores being a broodmare, and caring for her foals. She passes on her confidence and stability to her foals.

China has been tested and carries a single Cream gene, and is negative for the Frame (LWO), and the Champagne gene.

Her pedigree includes: National Champions including Sids Terminator, Roan Ranger, Johnstons, Boones Little Apache, Starlights, Dippers, Shadow Oaks Top Banana, Rowdy, NFC, Equus, Kewpies, Golden Pennys, Little Tex, and Komokos lines.

Fergies Kitty Hawk
Height - 31.50 inches. A 184459
Chocolate Silver Bay Splashed White Overo Pinto, with Blue Eyes.

We have wanted to add some Reeces 4GS Little Kings Alfalfa Pleasure (a.k.a. "Hawk") blood to our breeding program for some time. In the spring of 2008 that dream became a reality. Bred by Rick and Becky Ferguson of Illinois, Kitty Hawk is by a solid black, frame (lwo) positive, Reeces Shadow of a Hawk, a "Hawk" son, and out of a chocolate silver dam, Fergies Double Oak Miss. All Kitty Hawks pedigree lines are new to our breeding farm making her an ideal outcross for our stallions. While we have other toveros in our breeding program that include splashed white in them, this is our first pure splashed white mare. She has tested frame (lwo) negative, and is a classic splashed white overo pinto pattern. Her grandsire, Fergies Lucky Medicine Hat is a splashed white tobiano pinto and we think that is where the splashed white comes from, though her dam carries minimal markings. She also carries the Fishers line of horses which we have always admired. Kitty Hawk has a distinct, dark undercoat and she has darkened since her arrival from a classic red silver bay to a dark chocolate silver bay. She and a nice dishy head with dazzling blue eyes and should be a great cross with our frame, sabino, and tobiano stallions.

She has tested negative for the frame (lwo) gene, and positive for the silver, and agouti (bay) gene.

Her pedigree includes: Reeces Shadow of a Hawk, 4 GS Little Kings Alfalfa Pleasure, Little Kings Alfalfa Please, Warwick Farms, Luckys, Fergies Lucky Medicine Hat, Oak Forest Wild Streak, East Acres Blaze, Fishers Frosted Ellusion, and Fishers Elaine.

Sire:  Reeces Shadow of a Hawk
Dam: Fergies Double Oak Miss

Millennium Duffys Couture a.k.a.  "Contessa"
Height - 30.50 inches.  A 170551,  R 279089
Black Bay

When Darrell Mulkey and Tommy Smith of Millennium Farms retired from miniature horses in late 2009 this beautiful mare caught our attention. As we could not decide between Millennium's Abyss and Couture, we did what any level headed miniature horse lover would do, we bought them both!! Couture is a gorgeous black bay mare with huge, expressive doe eyes, and attitude to spare! Couture was the last of Dippers Duffy's foals born in 2006, the year that her sire died. He only sired two more foals the next year in 2007 that were born after his death. Dipper's Duffy was a Boones Little Apache son, and a Roan Ranger Grandson. Her dam, Rose, is a daughter of the incredible NFC Sugar Boy, by Roan Ranger. Rose is gorgeous mare that has proven herself over and over again to be a producer of spectacular offspring. Couture's great grandsire on both sides is Roan Ranger, giving her Gold Melody Boy on both the top and bottom of her pedigree. We are thrilled to have this mare join our band of brood mares. Couture carries herself with a presence of greatness. She has a floating trot and demands that you earn her trust. Her aloof nature has given her the nickname "Contessa"! That barn name has now stuck. Once again, we wish to thank Darrell and Tommy of Millennium Farms in Texas for allowing us to purchase this mare.

Her pedigree includes: Dippers Duffy, Checkmate Sugar Boys Black Rose, Boones Little Apache, Starlights Little Dipper, NFCS Sugar Boy, Flying M Blue Rose, Roan Ranger, Johnstons Starlight,  NFCS Sugar Baby,  Flying M Cracker, Justabouts Ranchs Pansy, and Gold Melody Boy.

Fahsers Lil Dots Deelite 4 Me
Height - 33.25 inches. A 129757  R 85279A

Jet Black Homozygous Tobiano Pinto. Homozygous for Black.

Until we saw Deelite, we had never seen another horse that so closely resembled our herd sire Canterbury All That Jazz, other than his own offspring. She has many of the same markings with  lots of dots trailing down her hip, as well as splashes of black on her chest shield, and across her back and sides. She is also that jet, non fading black color that we adore! Mix her incredible color patterns with a friendly, easy going personality, and you get a winner of a mare. Bred by Marsha Fahser of Wisconsin, Deelite was imported from Ontario, Canada in late 2009 from Last Chance Miniatures when Mona Stone retired. We are grateful to have been able to acquire this beautiful mare from Mona where Deelite has already proven herself to be a valuable herd asset. We are looking forward to seeing what she will produce for us.

      $2500.00

Clementine has proven herself to be a real asset to our breeding program. As a solid black she is versatile in being able to be bred to any of our stallions. And as a homozygous for black mare we know she will never produce a red foal no matter what stallion she is bred to. Clementine is three quarters Bond breeding tracing back to Bond Commodore, Bond Jocko, and Bond Showboy. Clementine has produced several beautiful foals for us and is a sweet mare. Her correct body and legs are a great asset to our breeding program. While she is one of our smaller mares, she has excellent leg to body proportions, and passes on this trait to her foals. Her large, dreamy brown eyes, dishy head, beautiful cheeks and muzzle are a lovely sight to behold.

Clementine has been tested and is homozygous for black. She cannot produce a red foal no matter what stallion she is bred to.

Las Doradas Tiffany's Lace
Height - 34.00 inches. A 61581
Jet Black Tobiano Pinto.

Lacey has been a wonderful brood mare for us. Though Lacey was not born here, she was purchased in 1994 at four days old, and she and her dam were brought to our farm where she was raised by us. She has acquired the nickname of "Black Lace" as we had several horses named "Lacey" in our herd at one point. Even as a newborn Lacey was an elegant horse. Beautiful long legs and movement combined to make her not only a wonderful mare, but a perfect broodmare. At the time of her purchase in 1994 there were not many horses as refined as her being produced. As of 2009, Lacey has produced ten foals for us, including one of our current herd sires, Pacific Mad Hatter. Lacey was our first introduction into the jet black (non fading) gene. Lacey's coat remains the darkest ink jet black even in the height of summer. This is a trait she often passes on to her foals. We have sought out this jet black gene when acquiring additional horses for our ranch. Her pedigree is filled with many well known Shadow Oaks, Dell Teras, and Shady Acres horses. Lacey has the personality and grace to make her one of our favorite mares. She is an easy going and happy mare that passes on her confidence, and her conformation, to her foals. Lacey has been a consistent producer of excellent quality, refined foals.

Lacey has been tested and is a heterozygous Tobiano, and negative for Sabino (SB1).

Her pedigree includes: Dell Teras, Shadow Oaks, Shady Acres, Hidden Rivers, Kraus Kings, Willowbrooks, AWH, and Les Petites.

Height - 33.00 inches. A70669
Bay Frame Sabino Pinto, Left Eye Blue. Homozygous for Black.

It would be hard to express the number of superlatives needed to describe Lucky Charm! She is beautiful to watch move, and is as friendly as a puppy dog. We just love having her. She goes out of her way to find people to nuzzle, and is equally friendly with other mares. Her pedigree includes Rhotens Little Dandy, a National Grand Champion driving horse. Bred by Lisa Davis at LTD's, she was previous owned by Linda Baerthlein Marzac where I first saw her at Sugar Creek Ranch in California. She was then sold to Aloha Acres in Florida, and I spent several years trying to convince Henry Horrox to sell her to me. She was a favorite of his, and I understand why. Lee Crutchfield eventually convinced him to sell her. We are very grateful he did. Charm is equally at home in a pasture or a barn stall. She is a happy wherever she is.

Lil Miracle Hopes and Dreams
Height - 32.00 inches. A 161267 / R 261698

Smokey Black Splashed White Tovero Pinto, Homozygous for Tobiano, with Blue Eyes.

Hope has been a wonderful addition to our breeding program. She carries both the tobiano and the splashed white overo pinto genes. This little mare surprised us by testing homozygous for tobiano! She will always pass on a tobiano pinto gene no matter what stallion she is bred to. The splashed white gene from her sire provides additional white in her coat. Her unusual coloring was found to be caused by a single cream gene that turns her black patch to a mocha color. She also has jet black in her tail and a partial jet black right ear. We thought at first she was a buckskin. But further dna testing revealed she was a black (aa). Some have thought she was a grulla, but that the white covers the typical grulla markings. She has produced a grulla filly. Her sire, Medicine Man, is a loud, jet black, splashed white and tobiano tovero pinto. Her dam, Dancing Cloud, is also a loud pinto that is tobiano, and either a roan or a sabino, and carries the dilution gene that she passed on to Hope. Originally bred in Missouri, Hope came to us from Irene Joyce in Michigan.

Hope has been tested and is Black (aa),  Homozygous for Tobiano, carries a single Cream gene; and is negative for the Frame (LWO), Sabino, Champagne, Pearl, and the Silver genes.

Her pedigree includes: High Hopes Medicine Man, RSC Dancing Cloud, Big Apples Dream Boat, Westwind Starr Spangled Sparkler, GE Egyptian Smokie, Show Me Dancer, Spring Valley's Native Silver, Spring Valleys Dream Girl, Hawks Little Bill, Raintrees Peachelo, Dell Tears Pegasus, Dels Sandy, Warners Little Dancer 2nd, Show Me Komokos Red, Van Huttenest, Hemlock Brooks, and Komokos lines.

Liberty has refinement, small size, and excellent conformation. Her pedigree has some of the best known names in the breeding and showing miniature horse world. One of her sons, Pacific Batik Prints, now stands in Australia at Eddie and Rhonda Dobbin's "Little Dobbin's American Miniature Horses". Height - 31.25 inches. A 102271
Silver Black Splashed White Tovero Pinto, Homozygous for Tobiano, with Blue Eyes.

Cloud Nine is a refined mare by our former herd sire Sugar Creek Bolero, a Gold Melody x Bond, Jet Black Pinto Stallion and out of Tivoli, our Bond Sir Galahad, Chocolate Silver Medicine Hat Tovero Mare. She is three quarters Bond breeding and one quarter Johnstons breeding. She is what we are striving for in our breeding; elegant, with great leg to body proportions. Cloud Nine has tested positive for the silver gene, and tested homozygous for Tobiano! She will always have a tobiano pinto foal no matter what stallion she is bred to. Buckskin Yearling Filly. Foaled April 11, 2008. Homozygous for Black.

After watching this filly for a year we have decided to add her to our future breeding lineup. We search for horses like her and can rarely find the elegance, conformation and refinement qualities that she has. We are proud to have bred this filly and feel she will be a great asset to our future breeding. She is an elegant buckskin filly with huge doe eyes, a dishy head, terrific cheek bones, tiny muzzle, along with a " look at me" attitude! Both her dam and grand dam carry the dilution (cream) gene and she was tested and also carries the cream gene. Her sire is Color Prints who is a LTD Magic Man son. Prints is homozygous for black. This filly, like her sire, is homozygous for black and can never produce a red foal. Her conformation and movement are excellent. Primitive dun markings on her shoulders, neck, and a jet black line down her back. She will be capable of producing buckskins. Her dam's pedigree includes Rowdy and Shadow Oaks Top Banana. Sugar Creek Celeste
Height - 28.00 inches. A 46718
Bay Minimal White Tovero Pinto.

Celeste is known at our ranch affectionately as my teddy bear because of her size, bay color, and personality. Our smallest mare, at just 28 inches, she makes up for her diminutive size by having an incredible personality. For those of you that have seen the outstanding British comic strip by Norman Thelwell, Celeste looks just like one of the "Thelwell ponies". And she certainly has a bigger than life character to match any of those ponies in the comic strip! She is another mare that continues to surprise us by producing loud colored foals. Ones that are far more refined and taller than she is, and foals that have a lot of leg. Celeste has produced homozygous tobianos, toveros, sabinos, and solids. We always wait for her next foal with great anticipation. Her sire is Carousel Galaxy a tobiano pinto from the Texans, Shady Acres, and Lil Ponderosa lines. Her dam is Stouts Sweet Potato, a silver dapple bay tovero pinto mare that is pure Stouts on both top and bottom of her pedigree. Celeste is one of our ranch's earliest acquisitions in 1996 when she was four years old. She had her first foal with us, Pacific Dual Image, a stunning black tovero pinto colt that we showed for several years. As of 2009 she has produced eight foals for us. One of which we have retained for breeding; her daughter, Pacific Desire, who is herself now part of our brood mare herd. Shown here at seventeen years young, Celeste remains a miniature horse to never underestimate. She has earned the title of "Barn Queen", having passed up several other "Barn Princesses", along the way. She is a true treasure that we have been honored to share our time with. Celeste was bred by my mentor and friend, Lynda Baerthlein Marzac at Sugar Creek Farms.

Her pedigree includes: Carousel, Texans, Springwater, Lil Ponderosa, Shady Acres, and Stouts.

Sire: Carousel Galaxy
Dam: Stouts Sweet Potato

Treasure found her way to our ranch in the fall of 2009 as a yearling. Cross Country Tequila Sunrise
Height - 33.00 inches. A 182510, R 288147T
Silver Buckskin Frame Overo Pinto, with Blue Eyes.

Tequila captured our attention as a newborn filly. We love the look of refined miniature horses and Tequila had that refined, beautiful body from birth. We have always loved silver buckskins, and with this mare's added flash of color, combined with her outstanding conformation, it was a package too great to pass up. Her sire is a frame overo pinto, Cross Country Native Dancer. Dancer is a Lazy N Red Boy son. Tequila is a double bred Lazy N Red Boy, and double bred Rowdy breeding. Lazy N Red Boy's get include a significant number of National, Grand, and Reserve Champions. Her dam is Cross Country Layla, a beautiful blue eyed buckskin. Tequila's pedigree is filled with Cross Country bred horses. As with all buckskins, she has darken over time and is now showing off her beautiful markings. Her coloration is an unusual deep apricot color. Her beautiful blue eyes are surrounded by black eyeliner. She has quickly burrowed herself into our hearts, and is one of our favorite mares. In addition to her drop dead gorgeous looks, her easy going personality is certainly a plus! Tequila is a gorgeous mare that we thankfully acquired from Belinda Bagby at Cross Country Farm in Arkansas.

She tested positive for the Frame (lwo), Silver, Cream, and Agouti (bay) gene, and negative for Sabino (sb1).

Pacific Sparkling Jewels
Height - 32.00 inches   A 189078
Black Frame Sabino Tobiano Tovero Pinto, with blue eyes.
Homozygous for Black.

Combining conformation with outstanding color, Jewels carries three color patterns; the frame (LWO), sabino, and tobiano genes. This stunning mare has everything you would want in a color breeding program. She also tested homozygous for black. The possibilities of what color patterns she can produce are nearly endless!  Dazzling blue eyes just add to this already impressive package. We expect the black patches to continue to darken over the next few years as is typical with this sabino gene. This is the only time we crossed Jewel's sire, Canterbury All That Jazz, our jet black homozygous for tobiano stallion, with her dam Feather, a brown frame sabino overo pinto. This cross has created a elegant mare with the conformation and movement we strive for. Her dam Feather now lives at Never Ending Ranch in Ontario, Canada. We have retained Jewels to carry on where her dam left off.  We are looking forward to what she will do for our breeding program in the future. We feel she will be worth the wait. In the meantime, it is a joy to see her move and light up the pasture with her elegance and color to burn.

She has been tested and is positive for the Frame (LWO), Sabino (sb1), and Tobiano pinto genes. She also tested homozygous for black (she can never have a red foal no matter what stallion she is bred to).
